We're excited to announce Deltra James as the Guest Editor for the metastatic breast cancer (MBC) issue of More Life Magazine publishing in fall 2025. The MBC issue will be a beautiful curation of experiences, resources and practical tips to support people of color living with metastatic breast cancer.
About Deltra
Deltra James is a patient advocate, poet, podcaster, and death doula living with Triple-negative metastatic breast cancer. With humor, vulnerability, and fierce compassion, she creates space for honest, often difficult conversations around illness, mortality, identity, and intimacy.
She regularly facilitates support groups, contributes to educational programming for patients, and speaks on topics that empower those parenting, dating, and creatively coping through cancer, while addressing disparities in care and helping people navigate mortality with clarity, courage, and care. Her story and insights have been featured by NPR, People, Wildfire Magazine, Cancer Health, and The Washington Post.
Deltra lives in Connecticut with her five daughters, cats trained in post-chemo cuddling, and a collection of wigs worthy of their own memoir. She is deeply committed to helping others feel seen, safe, and sovereign—no matter where they are in their story.
